Cost Information

Patients with insurance can find out about additional fees in the “Getting Started” section of this site.  If you are paying without insurance then the current fees for the Laparoscopic gastric bypass and Laparoscopic Gastric Banding are listed below:

Laparoscopic Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypass Cost

Hospital  - $15,925

$15,925 paid to the hospital by money order or cashiers check at least 2 days before the date of surgery.  This usually covers an uncomplicated hospitalization.  If hospital charges exceed $50,000 the patient will be responsible for 50% of the charges over $50,000 in addition to the initial charge.  If diagnostic tests are necessary (radiology, pathology) there may be physician fees related to interpretation of the tests.

Anesthesia - $1,950 paid at least 2 days before the surgery. 

Surgeon’s fee - $7,500 paid on the day your surgery is scheduled.

Laparoscopic Gastric Banding Cost

Hospital  - $17,275

$17,275 paid to the hospital by money order or cashiers check at least 2 days before the date of surgery.  This usually covers an uncomplicated hospitalization.  If hospital charges exceed $50,000 the patient will be responsible for 50% of the charges over $50,000 in addition to the initial charge.  If diagnostic tests are necessary (radiology, pathology) there may be physician fees related to interpretation of the tests.

Anesthesia - $1,600 paid at least 2 days before the surgery. 

Surgeon’s fee - $6,500 paid on the day your surgery is scheduled.
